Louise Designs was established in 2001 after Louise completed her B. Tech degree in Fashion Design and Technology (Cum Laude) at the former Vaal Triangle Technicon.
Louise Designs specializes is the design and making of :
- wedding gowns
- matric farewell dresses
- mother of the bride or groom
- christening dresses
Louise does not believe in mass production, and loves to create individual designs that will suit your own personal style and figure. Louise absolutely loves a challenge and strives to make your dreams a reality.
If you are looking for something different, Louise is also skilled in macramé, crochet, embroidery, beadwork, and handpainting of fabrics. Louise also specializes in working with lace.
Louise recieved several awards whilst studying at the Vaal Triangle Technicon, and also took part in several competitions, fashion shows, and other events:
• Louise Peters matriculated in 1996 with four distinctions.
• In 1997, Louise commenced with studies in Fashion Design at the Vaal Triangle
Technicon.
• Louise was named the Best Student in Fashion Design, and the School of
Humanities, every year.
• Received the Rectors and Vice-Chancel tor's Award for maintaining an average of
above 80 for the year 1999.
• Received a diploma in Fashion Design in 1999, cum laude.
• Received a B. Tech Degree in Fashion Design in 2000, cum laude.
• Semi-finalist in the Smirnoff Fashion Awards, 1999 and 2000.
• Was one of six finalists in the Summer Cup competition for Upcoming Fashion
Designers, 2002.
• Started own business in 2001.
• Louise often exhibits her work at expo's and fashion shows hosted in the Vaal
Triangle including the Vaalwed Bridal Expo of 2001 – 2005, 2010.
• Took part in a fashion show at 'Style lady of the year, 2002' at The Boulders
shopping centre.
Took part in a fashion show at 'Style lady of the year.2003' at Epsom Downs,
Sandton, and Misty Hills, 2003.
Took part in a fashion show and was a sponsor at the ‘Style lady of the year, 2005’ at the Emerald Casino.
• Exhibited artworks together with fellow students at the Grahamestown Arts
Festival, 2000 and 2001.
• Judged at the Miss Portuguese, locally and nationally in 2002.
• Judged at parents evenings for Models Unlimited in 2002 and 2003.
• Judged nominees in the categories of Best dressed Lady, Man and Couple at the Turffontein Racecourse in 2003 on July Day and Women's Day.
Louise also took part in a fashion show hosted at the Turffontein Racecourse on Champions Day and July Day,2003.
Louise was one of ten finalists in the Young Designers competition for Miss Earth SA that was hosted at The Venue Rivonia,2005.
Took part in fashion shows hosted by SA Fusion at the Beauty Africa Expo in Sandton, 2005.
Louise was one of twenty finalists in the Young Designers competition for Miss Earth SA that was hosted at The Palms, Sandton, 2006.
