Juliana Mendonça is a registered Educational Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
Juliana completed her undergraduate degree in Child and Family Psychology at the University of Johannesburg. She then continued her studies at Midrand Graduate Institute where she obtained her Bpsych Honours degree specialising in Trauma Counselling. Juliana obtained her Masters degree in Educational Psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand. Juliana obtained membership to the Golden Key International Honour Society which grants membership to academic achievers who graduate in the top 15% of their year.
Juliana has received training and experience through working at several institutions and centres throughout Johannesburg. She worked at New Jerusalem Children’s home providing the children with weekly group therapy and psychoeducation. She worked at Cluny Farm with a group of disabled adults providing them with weekly group therapy. Juliana was selected to work on the Phelophepa Healthcare Train in Louis Trichardt and Tzaneen running various workshops at the local schools to children of all ages as well as providing members of the community with individual therapy sessions. She volunteered at the Teddy Bear Clinic assisting abused children in court preparation. She completed her internship at Ububele (http://www.ububele.org/ ): The African Psychotherapy Resource Centre and Educational Trust. Juliana currently runs Holiday Programmes through Lefika(http://www.arttherapycentre.co.za/ ) La Phodiso: The Art Therapy Centre as well as weekly group therapy sessions.
Juliana is currently consulting from her private practice in Rivonia Boulevard Centre.

She believes in the importance of viewing each person as an individual and adjusts her techniques to meet the needs of her clients. Her work is largely influenced by psychodynamic theories which focuses on the use of containment, boundaries and consistency.
