Karien Grové has been involved in the business of photography since the early 2000's. It has been a passion of her since before she could actually remember. Starting off with the family film camera in the early 90's, she went on to develop her skills as competent film photgrapher, valuing the art of photography, with no retakes and shooting 'blind'. In those days film was the only decent media out there, many still believe so today. Film, being a scarce and expensive resource, developed her skill to get that special shot.
Karien would go on to focus on couple shoots and eventually caught her first break in 2006, when she had the opportunity to shoot her first wedding.
Karien holds a B.Sc (Honours) degree in Environmental Management obtained from Pukke. During this period she also completed a course in Film Photography. She hails from generation of farmers in the North-West province, with her family producing maize and livestock, to this day. She came to the city to follow and build a career and shortly after found love. In 2009 she was married to her husband, Roelf. Karien values love, life and friendship. She enjoys the outdoors and equally enjoys time spent with family with regular visits to her hometown and the farm. These values are evident in her approach to photography. She has the ability to capture life, those moments that happen without warning. Blink and you would have missed it!
